India vs England Betting tips: Anderson return boosts England

India and England who have both lost their opening matches to host Australia will look to open their account in Carlton Mid One-Day International Tri-Series in Brisbane contest. The English side has received a boost with return of their star bowler James Anderson. Here is preview and some betting advice for the match.

India

The Indian team would be without services of front-line bowler Ishant Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. India will once again rely on pace of Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s swing in the opening overs with Ashwin and Axar Patel looking to exploit Brisbane’s dusty pitch to take advantage of rival side’s documented weakness against turning deliveries.

Despite, losing against Australia, the Indian side gave a good account of their fighting spirit. Rohit Sharma with 138 runs from 139 balls brought India into the match after initial collapse. He was ably supported by Raina’s half century. Yadav with two wickets was the highlight in otherwise average pace attack. Axar Patel did well and kept things tight with 4.5 economy. However, his senior spin partner Ashwin was disappointing.

England

England have received a timely boost with James Anderson’s return who could prove to be handful on Brisbane wicket, which is expected to provide lateral movement and some bounce. He is expected to replace Steve Finn.

Anderson has been a key man for the English side. In last five years, they have won around 56% of their matches with Anderson in line-up. However, this percentage drops to just 43% in his absence. Moeen Ali would be charged with providing a spin option as James Tredwell is expected to miss out again.
